Brabant Water
Water Maot
For Brabant Water, I collaborated with a student team to develop a concept for a mobile app that raises water awareness among families with young children in the province of North Brabant.
With climate change, drought, and rising water demand becoming urgent challenges, the goal of our project was to explore how we could influence household behavior through technology. We focused on creating a tool that is both educational and engaging — making it easier for families to understand how much water they use and how to reduce it.

My role – Concept design & UX thinking
I was closely involved in shaping the entire creative direction of the project. My responsibilities included:
• Conducting user research and interviews with families to understand their water usage habits and awareness
• Analyzing existing awareness campaigns and how they influenced behavior
• Co-developing concepts for a mobile-first app that encourages families to track and reduce water usage
• Designing the main user flow and interactive screens
• Creating a friendly and accessible visual style, tailored to parents and children
• Inventing the app’s name and designing the logo and brand identity
• Designing the majority of the UX/UI screens in Figma, including the visual water tracking feature
Throughout the project, I ensured that the app would not only function well, but also feel engaging, playful, and trustworthy — aligned with Brabant Water’s tone and mission.

Final concept
A water tracking app that shows your daily water use as a filling swimming pool. Users can:
• Log their meter readings
• Track their usage over time through charts
• Receive personalized tips and water-saving challenges
• Compare usage with other families in the region
• Educate children through visual cues and goals
The app combines gamification with practical information, helping families reduce their water footprint in a fun and motivating way.
